Since our founding in 2022, Sahasra Chakkirala has been dedicated to bringing music to life through her compositions and private instruction. 

• At the heart of my work is collaboration. When you reach out with an idea for a new piece, we begin a conversation about instrumentation, duration, any specific considerations (especially when writing for younger musicians), and your artistic vision. Unlike traditional commissions, my goal is to make the process accessible and focused on creativity rather than cost.Once we agree on the concept and timeline, I begin composing the piece, keeping you involved every step of the way. Weekly progress updates are provided, usually as PDF scores accompanied by audio files, so you can see the work evolve in real time. 
• Each score and part includes a ‘Commissioned by…’ header on the first page, acknowledging the collaboration. I complete the composition by the agreed-upon deadline, and the performer(s) premiere the work. After the premiere, the sheet music may be made available for wider distribution. 
• Because every piece is uniquely tailored to the performer and their ideas, pricing tables are not applicable—my focus is on creating music that is meaningful and accessible. If you are interested in a custom composition, please reach out to start a conversation. Please note that I am generally booked at least 12 months in advance, so planning ahead is essential.

• I welcome commissions from ensembles, institutions, and professional musicians. Each piece is uniquely crafted to reflect your artistic vision while fostering collaboration and creativity.
• We’ll discuss instrumentation, duration, technical considerations, timeline, and budget. My standard rate is $30 per minute of finished music. During the composition process, I provide regular updates—PDF scores with audio files—so you can follow the work as it develops.
• Completed scores include a ‘Commissioned by…’ header on the first page, and your ensemble or group premieres the piece. After the premiere, the music can be made available for wider distribution.
